Mindfullness Through the Art
About
My name is Yuka Minghella
I was born into a family in Kyoto with deep ties to traditional Japanese culture. My grandfather established Kyoto Kimono in 1928, introducing innovative techniques that harmonized classical artistry with fresh design concepts. His work garnered the National Traditional Culture Award, and his creations continue to inspire people today.
My grandmother hailed from a long-standing tea shop family and a renowned maiko/geisha celebrated for her grace and artistry. I hold great respect for her, discipline, and the beautiful relationships she cultivated through her art.
Growing up in Kyoto immersed me in a world of living traditions — kimono, ceremonies, calligraphy, and floral arrangements. Among these, Ikebana resonated with me the most, teaching me mindfulness balance, and the joy of creating beauty with nature.
Now, I bring the spirit of Kyoto to London, sharing Ikebana as a mindful, sustainable practice that fosters, tranquility, and connection in everyday life.
